Stevenswood - not just a job, it’s a Career!

I joined Stevenswood having never heard anything about them back in March 2015 as a sales / window designer operative. Having left my previous job in sales due to lack of progression, it was a risk, as I was comfortable doing a job. I could do my old job with my eyes closed but it was the same every day with very little challenge and extremely monotonous, it was time for a change! 

How long have you been with Stevenswood?

Within 4 years I have progressed from Sales Assistant to Branch Manager to Area Manager simply by doing my job well, selling our products and dealing with customers in the manner I would wish to be dealt.  

Are there any downsides to the job?

Like every job there are challenges and I think as an individual you can either rise to them or be consumed by them. I can honestly say that the team work and comradery from warehouseman to senior management is exceptional. I have worked for several other companies where this has been lacking and quite the opposite is true at Stevenswood. 

What is your favourite part of the job?

We quote and order very bespoke products so everybody’s eye for detail and record keeping must be meticulous. Although the job is fast paced at times, the working environment is the most relaxed I have seen in any company, we all support each other, and that back-up is key. The staff are all extremely helpful and willing to go that extra mile to help support and encourage new team members. Between us all, we have a vast knowledge of the fenestration industry making the most difficult questions possible to answer.  It is no surprise to me that Stevenswood were trade counter of the year winners in 2019. 

Is there scope for progression in the company?

The company has grown from 8 trade counters to 34 in my time here and continues to expand, both in the trade counters themselves and within the support teams. This gives huge scope for anyone with the drive to progress within the company, just like I have done.
